Online Lovingkindness (Metta) Meditation Class
This online Lovingkindness (metta) meditation course will point you in the direction the natural warmth and tenderness of Lovingkindness. This course offers a practical context for lovingkindness and then explores the methods and skills for you to cultivate it yourself. It also address common problems that can arise and what to do about them.
At the end of this course, you’ll understand the fundamental skills of Lovingkindness or Metta. You’ll have the building blocks for your own life long metta practice. You’ll know what metta feels like and how it fits in with the other three meditation practices of compassion, empathic joy, and equanimity that complement the set of practices called the Brahma-viharas. You’ll have a better idea of the classical methods of developing metta as well as the more subtle practices called inclining and abiding. You’ll be aware of the difficulties that can come from a metta practice and you’ll be taught what to do if these troubles arise. Finally, we’ll relate and embed metta to the mindfulness meditation practice.
Prior to each class, you’ll receive online information and videos for the upcoming class. This hybrid course aims to maximize the amount of time working with your individual meditation needs.
